Dum Aloo Recipe

Dum aloo basically made with onion, tomato, cashew nuts paste Cream, and some spicy powder like turmeric powder, red chili powder, curry powder, garam masala.

Ingredients

  • Baby boil Potato 6
  • Oil
  • Cumin Seeds
  • Finely Chopped Onion
  • Tomato Puree
  • Curd
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Turmeric powder
  • Red chili Powder
  • Curry Powder
  • Salt To taste
  • Fresh cream
  • Kasturi methi
  • Garam Masala
  • Coriander leaves

For Without Onion Ginger Garlic

  • Baby boil potato 6
  • Oil
  • Sugar
  • Cumin seeds
  • Kaju & Watermelon seeds Paste
  • Tomato puree
  • Turmeric powder
  • Red chili Powder
  • Curry Powder
  • Salt
  • Fresh cream
  • Garam masala
  • Kasturi methi

For Spicy Dum Aloo

  • Oil 1 Tsp
  • Butter 1 Tsp
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 2 green Cardamom
  • 1inch Cinnamon
  • Kaju Paste 1 Cup
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri red chili powder
  • Coriander Powder
  • Kasturi methi 1 tsp
  • Fresh cream
  • Garam masala
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Heat a pan add oil, and sauté bay leaf,  cardamom, sugar & Jeera.
  2. Fry ginger garlic paste until the raw smell goes.
  3. Add tomato puree and Kaju & Watermelon paste and fry for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Now add spice powder like Turmeric powder, red chili powder, curry powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and as per salt.
  5. Continue to fry till oil separates.
  6.  Add curd or fresh cream. Give a good mix on the low flame.
  7. Add 1 cup of water as per required to adjust the consistency and mix well.
  8. Finally, add fried baby fried potato and cook 20 25 minutes.
  9. Add some kasuri  methi and garam masala.
  10. Mix well and cover & cook 5 minutes.
  11. Grasinsh with chopped coriander leaves.
  12. Serve dum aloo with Jeera rice, veg biriyani, plain roti or nan.
